Born in 1965. Writer, book reviewer. Graduated from Aichi University’s Department of History, Faculty of Letters. While working as a reporter at the Nihon Kogyo Shinbun (Called Fuji Sankei Business Eye in 2004) and Sankei Shinbun, responsible for finance, securities, distribution, transportation, software, and entertainment fields such as games, music, video, and publishing, Taniguchi wrote book reviews mainly on light novels for S-F Magazine and Mystery Magazine. Contributed a review entitled Chushin naki uchu to awa noyouni tadayoi tsuzukeru boogie-pop no monogatari tachi (Boogiepop stories continue to drift like bubbles in a centerless universe) to the April 2019 issue of Eureka. He has written reviews for HOSONO Fujihiko Bon of Mangaka Bon book (Shogakukan) (2018), and ICHINOSEKI Kei Bon and TAKAHASHI Rumiko Bon (both in 2019). He has also written expository writings for paperback books such as KOSHIGAYA Osamu’s Ito Michi trilogy (Shinchosha, 2013–2016). He served as a member of the selection committee for the Kono light novel ga sugoi (This light novel is amazing!) Grand Prize and the Kadokawa bunko paperback book character novel award. Working freelance since 2019. He writes creator interviews and event reports for IGN Japan. He manages the book review site “Tsundoku paradise (Stacked reading paradise)” since February 1996.
