MATSUNAGA Shinji

Associate Professor at Media and Culture Studies, the Faculty of Letters, Kyoto University, Visiting Lecturer at the College of Arts and Sciences, the University of Tokyo, and Visiting Fellow at Ritsumeikan Center for Game Studies. Specializes in videogame research and aesthetics. Published works include Video Game no Bigaku (The Aesthetics of Video Games; Keio University Press, 2018), and works in translation include Jesper JUUL, Half-Real (New Games Order, 2016), and Nelson GOODMAN, Languages of Art (Keio University Press, 2017), Miguel SICART, Play Matters (Film Art Inc., 2019), etc. Since FY2015 he has been responsible for research mapping for game studies that is part of the Agency for Cultural Affairs’ Project for Promotion of Cooperation of Media Arts.
