Visiting Lecturer in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Tokyo Metropolitan University, and Visiting Fellow at Ritsumeikan Center for Game Studies. Specializes in videogame research and aesthetics. Published works include Video Game no Bigaku (The Aesthetics of Video Games; Keio University Press, 2018), and works in translation include Jesper Juul, Half-Real: Video Games between Real Rules and Fictional Worlds (New Games Order, 2016), and Nelson Goodman, Languages of Art (Keio University Press, 2017), etc. Since FY2015 he has been responsible for research mapping for game studies that is part of the Agency for Cultural Affairs’ Project for Promotion of Cooperation of Media Arts.
