Born in 1954. Graduated from the Faculty of Economics, Wakayama University, in 1977. Freelance editor/writer. Visiting lecturer in the Faculty of Manga at Kyoto Seika University. His major publications include Tezuka Osamu to rojiura no manga tachi (Osamu Tezuka and manga pieces in off-streets), Manga Sangyo-ron (Theory of Manga Industry), Nazo no Manga ka Shichima Sakai (Mysterious Manga artist Shichima Sakai). His works as editor include Kamigata Rakugo Katsura Beicho Collection, Mangaka tachi no Senso (War paintings by manga artists). He is in charge of expository writing for the collection exhibition at the Osamu Tezuka Manga Museum in the city of Takarazuka, Hyogo Prefecture, and its catalog.
